Dropout, beloved online for shows like Dimension 20, Game Changer, and other comedy entertainment, recently tweeted about their new show Very Important People which is set to release on December 15th of this year. But what exactly is Very Important People going to be about and what should you expect?

What is Very Important People?

As explained in the teaser trailer released by the entertainment service, Very Important People‘s premise is that they are going to heavily apply special effects makeup to a lineup of comedians, without them knowing what they look like until they’re brought out on stage for an improvisational interview. They will be interviewed by Vic Michaelis, a comedian that has appeared on Game Changer, Dirty Laundry, Make Some Noise with positive response from audiences.

Outside of Dropout, Vic Michaelis is an American and Canadian Actress and Comedian that has appeared in productions such as Upload, Bless This Mess, and an array of different podcasts and television series. Their most recent endeavor will be in collaboration with 14 different comedians over 12 episodes for the first season. A hefty amount of content that we are very excited to dive into.

Who Should We Expect?

The current lineup of comedians is as follows:

“Vic Michaelis + Pig #2, Princess Emily, Keplp & Dr. Milk, Vic’s Ex Step Grandmother, Tommy Shriggly, Lucian Azethothe & Martha Tops, Augbert, Marionette Conqui & Zonte bu Rotaje, Leighanna-Jean Gruthers, Denzel, Jasper & Casper, and Avery Goodman”

If you are as confused as we are, that is because for every episode, each of the comedians featured will be taking on a persona that will be decided based on the dialogue exchanged throughout the episode.

The guests that will be taking on some of these personas are:

As you can tell from the above cast, Dropout is bringing out their top comedians for this show, perhaps hoping to have this be on par with their more popular series.

We Have to Discuss the Special Effects

Another thing that Dropout’s new show Very Important People is not holding back on is the special effects. Some of your favorite comedians are totally unrecognizable with their makeup on. I personally threw my head back in laughter when I heard Brennen Lee Mulligan’s (@BrennanLM) voice come out of Augbert, an apparent caveman physicist. These people will become entirely strange and foreign to us and themselves on this show, leading us to be very curious to what kind of questions will be asked.

Some other notable mentions are Ally Beardsley’s (@agbeardsley) apparent nose faced grandfather character and Josh Ruben’s face covered with acne and teeth plastered with braces. Although, I think my favorite was Zac Oyama’s (@ZacOyama) Tommy Shriggly character, who seems to have had one too many cups of protein power.

Word Around the Block

On top of the positive response from fans across social media’s, those who participated in the show seem to be just as excited to have been apart of it. Jacob Wysocki (@JacobWysocki) mentioned in a X post, “Dropout does it again baby” most likely implying that this is just another addition to Dropouts well received streaming shows.

Additionally, later that day, CEO Sam Reich (@samreich) released a photo with many other dropout stars. Stating along with the above image, “a few distinguished members of the smartypants society”. Many have hypothesized that this means that we are not getting one, but TWO new shows on Dropout. This seemed to be confirmed with Dropout retweeted the post, saying “We promise to make your $6 even more well-spent in 2024”.

In Conclusion

In conclusion, the anticipation surrounding these two shows is palpable, and we find ourselves eagerly counting down the days until we can immerse ourselves in the hilarious premises they promise to deliver. Our calendars are marked and popcorn at the ready, we’re poised to tune in on December 15th to experience the premiere of Very Important People.
